Rudolf Rosochacki was born in 1957 in Springs, Transvaal and matriculated at the German School Cape Town in 1975. After national service in the navy he studied winemaking and viticulture at university of Stellenbosch obtaining a BSc Agri degree in 1981. Thereafter, he joined the family business in textiles. 

Always maintaining other interests such as building a sailing boat, sports car and doing figure drawing at Ruth Prowse with David Brown. Rosochacki discovered his passion for sculpture during a cross Atlantic sailing trip to the Caribbean. Initially he used only modelling clay, and when he was back ashore in Cape Town – began working with clay and wax. Rosochacki would make clear tinted resin shapes cast in silicone moulds. He taught himself this process in the evenings, while working as a production director in the family business. 

In 2007, he moved to a smallholding near Knysna and established a Macadamia orchard and earthworm business as well as a workshop/studio for his sculpting. At the end of 2011 Rudolf Rosochacki, his wife and two children relocated to Port Elizabeth. During 2012 he made a range of unique Blackwood, Blackwattle and oak stave tables benches and chairs. And since 2013 Rosochacki has been sculpting full time and loving every second of it. Since then his works have been exhibited in Cavalli Stellenbosch, The Gallery at Grande Provence, G2Art Cape Town, Charles Greig Gallery Johannesburg and at his studio near Knysna.

As a sculptor, Rudolf Rosochacki works in various mediums which are then cast in bronze, coldcast aluminium or coldcast marble. Rosochacki feels that his works should speak for themselves.
